Yarn as a Language: Zegna Baruffa Lane Borgosesia at the CKD Master Fashion Show 2026

On June 4 and 5, the CKD Master Fashion Show 2026 was held at the Fondazione Sozzani. This event, organized by Accademia Costume & Moda in collaboration with Modateca Deanna, showcased the final collections of the Master’s Degree Program in Creative Knitwear Design.

The Master’s program stems from a long-standing collaboration between the worlds of education and Italian manufacturing. It is a program that fosters dialogue between creative research, technological innovation, craftsmanship, and experimentation, offering students the opportunity to engage directly with the excellence of Made in Italy.

The young designers’ final collections showcase a diversity of visions and design approaches, confirming knitwear’s role as an experimental language capable of uniting manufacturing expertise, aesthetic sensibility, and innovation. The garments were created through collaboration with partner companies, knitwear manufacturers, spinning mills, and specialized workshops that represent the current landscape of excellence in contemporary knitwear.

In this shared journey, Zegna Baruffa Lane Borgosesia supported the students by providing its know-how and expertise in yarn research. A direct encounter with the material, with production processes, and with the value of Made in Italy.

BORN TO DIE – by Eleonore Beeckman
Eleonore Beeckman’s work, Born to Die, stems from a reflection on contemporary beauty standards and their opposite. In a world that constantly seeks perfection, youth, and control over the body, the project shifts the focus to what is often perceived as a flaw: the passage of time, the body’s natural changes, and the aging of the skin.

The collection invites us to slow down, to accept transformation, and to embrace the body as living, mutable matter in constant evolution. In this narrative, knitwear becomes a second skin: light, sensitive, and intimate, a surface that envelops without constricting. Latex intertwines with the knit as an extension of the body itself, while the tattoo becomes a permanent mark, a visible memory of time and experience.

Not just technique, then, but an expressive language.

A vision in harmony with the identity of Zegna Baruffa Lane Borgosesia, which has always been linked to research on materials, attention to detail, and the richness of chromatic nuances, with yarn as the starting point of every creative journey.

For ZBLB, supporting the CKD Master Fashion Show means fostering the encounter between those who produce yarns, those who teach how to interpret them, and those who transform them into new creative forms. A dialogue that looks to the future of knitwear by starting with what remains essential: the quality of the material, technical expertise, and the value of craftsmanship.
