On July 19th, during the usual plenary assembly of Zegna Baruffa Lane Borgosesia, which was later broadcasted live on July 22nd for the Lessona and Borgosesia plants, key topics related to economic performance were discussed. The focus was mainly on the new sustainability report—particularly on the ESPR regulation concerning ecodesign for sustainable product regulation—and the new fall-winter 25/26 collection.
Also on 19 July, ZBLB took part in the Plastic Free event, actively contributing to the cleaning of streets and tree-lined areas in Biella. An ecological walk that led to collect 220 kg of plastic and waste in less than two hours.
This commitment was recognized by including the company in the Silver section of the Supporters page on the association’s website as evidence of the work carried out through governance policies and strategic objectives aligned with sustainability criteria within the territory, highlighting the strong bond between the Biella region and the company.
During 2023, constant efforts to improve energy, water and waste management efficiency have allowed the plant to reduce emissions and implement energy saving processes, also thanks to the installation of a photovoltaic system. The continuous search for solutions to improve the quality and environmental impact of the products manufactured has allowed Zegna Baruffa Lane Borgosesia to achieve excellence in chemical certification thanks to the respectful and sustainable use of the components required by the production process. A mission that the historic wool mill has also decided to include in the recently published 2023 Sustainability Report, in which the entire ESG strategy emerges, which can be traced back to four pillars:
