The third edition of CirculART was officially inaugurated on 15th December in Biella: the artistic project for responsible and sustainable fashion, organized by Cittadellarte – Fondazione Pistoletto in collaboration with Fashion B.E.S.T. and UNIDEE Residency Programs.
This initiative focuses on a choral path towards sustainability, crossing the themes of the supply chain and the choice of materials as fundamental steps towards an ethical vision of the entire fashion industry, starting from the first production impulse up to embracing the dynamics of the whole supply chain. There are three essential tools to achieve the goal – the good practices – three habits that make a concrete commitment in daily choices. Reduce the consumption of raw materials, Reuse the materials already available, Recycle in a circularity perspective.
The creatives were asked to interpret the theme of CirculART: two fashion designers and two visual artists – selected by an international open call – will transform into art the raw materials supplied by the partner companies in textile and fashion sector.
Zegna Baruffa Lane Borgosesia provides the necessary support in terms of yarns and inspirations to weave new ideas that tell the shared goal of bringing sustainability to the center at every stage of the wool supply chain.
The creations born from the hands and minds of Augustina Bottoni, Lucia Chain, Huge Sillytoe and Rebecca Sforzani will be presented during the twentyfifth edition of Arte al Centro organized by Cittadellarte – Fondazione Pistoletto, scheduled for June 2023. In the same year, the four artists will be given the opportunity to visit and collaborate first-hand with the partner companies of CirculART.
